Design Goals
L’arbre de Vie is a conceptual brand and packaging design project for a maple-infused Chardonnay that celebrates nature, heritage, and craftsmanship. Inspired by the symbolism of the tree of life, this project seeks to translate the richness of Quebec’s natural landscape into a refined visual identity. The goal was to create a wine label that communicates both elegance and authenticity, appealing to a modern, experience-driven audience. By combining organic shapes, natural colour palettes, and refined typography, the design demonstrates how storytelling and visual elements can transform a product into a meaningful expression of place and tradition.
Key Aspects of Design
Colour and Tone: A palette of soft neutrals, forest greens, and warm golds reflects the wine’s natural elements, capturing the richness of maple and the lightness of Chardonnay while maintaining a cohesive, grounded aesthetic.
Typography and Identity: The combination of refined serif typography and elegant script detailing establishes a sense of heritage and luxury, reinforcing the brand’s premium positioning while maintaining warmth and approachability.
Style and Imagery: Minimalist, nature-inspired visuals, centered around the symbolic tree of life, create a strong and recognizable identity. Subtle references to Quebec’s geography and natural forms add depth and authenticity to the design.
Label Design
Designing the label for L’arbre de Vie required a careful balance of visual appeal and strategic intent. With limited space available, each element needed to serve a clear purpose, whether expressing the brand identity, conveying the essence of the product, or capturing consumer attention. My approach focused on creating a cohesive design that aligns with the brand’s core values while remaining distinctive on the shelf and engaging to its intended audience.
