The final logo for the WLU Campus Woods Trails captures the mordern yet organic essence of the brand. Designed with a hill emblem, the mark reflects the natural landscape and sense of movement found throughout the trails. The overall design results in a logo that is both distinctive and closely connected to the trails experience.
Colours were chosen for the WLU Campus Woods Trails to extend on West Liberty University’s brand identity while establishing a distinct visual identity for the trail system. Vibrant colours were chosen to stand out within the natural environment. Each trail is designated a unique color, allowing for clear identification and navigation throughout the system.
Typefaces were chosen to extend West Liberty University’s brand identity while establishing a distinct visual identity for the trail system. Montserrat and Cicero are the core WLU typefaces, providing a foundation of readability and visual consistency.
Montserrat serves as the primary Trails typeface for its clean, highly legible design, working seamlessly across print, web, and digital platforms. It is applied throughout the Trails identity in the logo, titles, and body text, establishing a cohesive and approachable typographic system.
Cicero is used selectively for the wordmark and occasional headlines, adding a refined accent while remaining aligned with the broader WLU visual language.
To create a distinct Trails presence, Bebas Neue was introduced as a Trails-specific typeface. Its bold, impactful letterforms are primarily used for titles and headings, reinforcing the energy and individuality of the Trails brand.
Together, these typefaces form a typographic system that balances readability, consistency, and a unique visual identity for WLU Campus Woods Trails.
